Oh, incase you didn’t know. Now lets go 👇

Craft Your Vision for Your Online Teaching Business

The first step in starting a successful online teaching business is to craft your vision 💭.

When I say vision I don’t want you to be vague but to actually be very specific. The reason for you crafting a vision first is because you need something that will drive you past the pain and frustration. Something that you can turn to when you want to give up and decide that the little progress and discomfort you are feeling is not worth it.

Contrary to what you may believe, your vision should include more personal things than business. When you tie your vision into your personal goals, wants, needs and desires this will encourage you to keep going and DON’T STOP. Your vision should be at least 1 page long and include all the details for the next 3-5 years. Be sure to include all the important points below:

This checklist gives teachers some ideas for what they should include in their vision statement when trying to decide what goals and aspirations they want out of their online teaching business.

Be specific, write it down, and post it somewhere that you can see it daily.

Finding Your Online Teaching Business Niche

Ok, just the word “Niche” makes me feel stressed out when I hear it 😧.

First off, some of you might be asking what is a “Nche”. When trying to find your teacher business niche think about what you will be doing and for whom you will be doing it for while also being as specific as possible.

Finding and writing down your business niche is hard. This example gives teachers an idea for how to turn their teacher passion into a niche that they could use for their business.

I name who I’m serving and what I am doing for them. But I make sure to include what my special attraction would be. I could have easily just said “helping kindergarten-3rd graders read short reading passages” but I mentioned 10-minute daily passages which will entice any parent who is short on time to think, ok I have 10 minutes a day that I could do this with my child.

Don’t stress about picking a niche. You can always fine-tune it later. Done is better than perfect. Write a couple of different sentences with a few niche ideas down on some paper and see which one you resonate with more.

Write Down Your Mission and Values

When thinking about your mission think about what is the impact you want to have or the change that you want to see. It doesn’t have to be long, a couple of sentences will suffice.

If were going along with the previous example of helping children read, and example of a mission statement could be “I want to empower younger children to learn how to read fluently on their own so that they can have a love of reading to be successful in school and read on grade level”.

It’s simple and to the point while still explaining what change you want to see with children.

Your values are the personality behind your business/brand. One quick way to come up with some adjectives is to google examples of adjectives or use chatgpt.

Remember were starting a business, so you need to write down your mission and vision statement or keep a running Google doc with all this important info.
